Join us to explore how we can individually and collectively move race equity in coaching up the agenda, and to find out about the Roundtable for Race Equity in Coaching’s new series of webinars on Race equity in coaching: from the margins to the mainstream, launching in the spring.
Diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) is sadly dropping off the top priority list for many leaders in the UK, due to pressures such as the UK’s cost-of-living crisis, low retention rates and increasing skill gaps, according to a study by Cpl’s Talent Evolution Group. We’re determined not to let DEI, in particular race equity as that is the Roundtable’s current focus, slip off the agenda. Join us to keep up the momentum in shifting the dial around race equity in coaching across the world, which has seen many welcome DEI initiatives developed by professional bodies, in addition to the work of the Roundtable over the last few years.
This is an interactive event from the Roundtable for Race Equity in Coaching, hosted by Coaching at Work, with representatives from leading professional coaching bodies. There will be some input on key themes from research, dialogue, and a guided exercise (please bring pen and paper).
Roundtable working towards Race Equity in the Coaching Profession – free Webinar on its Open Letter
Where: Virtual
Date and time: Thu, 23 March 2023, 09:00 – 10:00 GMT
This free webinar will be hosted by the Roundtable working towards Race Equity in the Coaching Profession to discuss the Open Letter to training, education and qualification providers in coaching, mentoring and supervision regarding diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging in coaching and coaching supervision.
The letter, launched to coincide with the UK’s Race Equity Week in February 2023, encourages such providers to review progress towards their organisation’s DEIB targets, demonstrate commitment to DEIB, include training and development specifically about DEIB in their curriculum to raise awareness around DEIB through substantive learning content, and start thinking about how they can embed DEIB across the business, including in all training and development. Read the Open Letter here: https://www.coaching-at-work.com/roundtable-open-letter/
About the Roundtable
In 2021, Coaching at Work organised the first Roundtable working towards Race Equity in the Coaching Profession, gathering representatives from leading professional coaching and coaching bodies to explore collaboration and share learning to further the race equity agenda in coaching as part of wider diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging (DEIB) initiatives. The Roundtable is hosted by Coaching at Work regularly, with representatives from these bodies: Association for Coaching, Association of Coaching Supervisors, Association for Professional Executive Coaching and Supervision, the British Psychology Society Division of Coaching Psychology, Coaches and Mentors of South Africa (COMENSA), European Mentoring and Coaching Council UK, UK International Coaching Federation, International Society for Coaching Psychology, Psychological Society of Ireland Coaching Psychology Special Interest Group.
In 2021, the Roundtable released the following statement: Professional coaching bodies agree: ‘We stand against racism’ and commit to further dialogue around collaboration’. In addition to the Open Letter, the Roundtable is also developing a Charter for Race Equity.
